That philosophy is the reason why Mr. Haji Sultan Manaba shifted his business, from selling clothes to selling shoes. “It was started in 1986.” “Pak Haji”, Mr. Sultan Manaba’s nickname, told about him and his wife’s story when they started a shoe selling business in a market in Kolaka, Makassar.
Their clothes stall was burned out. This unforgettable misfortune created a new chapter for Pak Haji’s success in running his shoe business. “We had a misfortune. Our clothes stall was burned out. After the event, I thought of starting a new business and fortunately I had a lot of friend who already started shoes wholesale business. I was suggested to sell their shoes. Then, thanks to their suggestions and support, I tried to sell shoes,” said Pak Haji.
Pak Haji and Mrs. Mulyani are now reaping their harvests in their old days. This couple now has 11 grandchildren from four of their children. One of their children have deceased and the remaining 3 children will continue their parent’s business. “If God allows, my children are ready to continue the business.
