“At first we only tried our luck by selling satay. We were worried of failures as the earlier attempts. However it turns out that the people here welcomed our peddling satay. They are eager to taste this Madurese specialty,” Mrs. Norwati, a satay seller who previously traveled using a cart with her husband, said. Each day, demand for their business is increasing. One day it occurred to her to open a permanent satay kiosk. Norwati opened a satay stall around a station using a tent. It turned out that many customers visited her stall. As the number of customers increased, came another problem. Her place was inadequate to accommodate those buyers. In addition, operational vehicles are needed for purchasing raw materials, which are quite far from her business location. In September 2014, Ms. Norwati and her husband applied for a loan to Bank Sahabat Sampoerna. Mrs. Norwati no longer needs to sell satay using tents. She opened a permanent stall at the station instead. Apparently there are many more customers stopped by her stall. Her business is progressing and currently Ms. Norwati is assisted by her child who is expected to continue her business later.
