Bank Sahabat Sampoerna (Bank Sampoerna) and the United States International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) built concrete steps to jointly advance micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) while encouraging gender equality through increasing access to funding in Indonesia. This was made through the inauguration of a strategic partnership on Wednesday, 27 September 2023, on the 31st floor of Sampoerna Strategic Square, South Jakarta.
The signing of the partnership was carried out by the CEO of Bank Sampoerna Ali Yong, together with the Regional Managing Director of DFC Indonesia, Douglas Midland, witnessed by the CEO of Sampoerna Strategic, Michael Sampoerna, and the United States Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia, Sung Kim.
Several officials from The U.S. Embassy, the Board of Commissioners, and the Board of Management of Bank Sampoerna were also at the event.
As a first step, DFC has agreed in substance to guarantee 50% of Bank Sampoerna’s loan, with a maximum amount of $200 million.
As part of its commitment to promoting financial literacy from an early age, Bank Sahabat Sampoerna (BSS) hosted its "Adventure at Bank Sahabat Sampoerna" program on Thursday (June 25) in Jakarta. The program welcomed 46 students from Grade 4 of elementary school to Grade 9 of junior high school and was officially opened by BSS Director of Information Technology, Hendra Rahardja.
In the spirit of Eid al-Adha and as part of its commitment to supporting the surrounding community, Bank Sahabat Sampoerna donated one sacrificial cow to Sampoerna Land for distribution to residents in need around the Sampoerna Strategic Square area.
During the holy month of Ramadan, on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, Bank Sahabat Sampoerna, in collaboration with KSP Sahabat Mitra Sejati, organized an iftar (breaking of the fast) gathering with the children of Yayasan Al Kahfi in Central Jakarta. The event was held as part of the institutions’ commitment to sharing joy and togetherness with the children during the blessed month of Ramadan.
On December 16, 2025, in celebration of Christmas, Bank Sampoerna held a social activity at Desa Putera Orphanage as a form of care and an effort to share happiness with the children.
To increase social awareness toward the surrounding community during Eid al-Adha, Bank Sahabat Sampoerna donated one cow to Sampoerna Land to be distributed to those in need around the Sampoerna Strategic Square building.
